A man isn't poor if he can still laugh.

Today, according to holidays on the net, we celebrate laugh and get rich day. A day for recognizing that laughter and humor are good for morale in the workplace and the reality that laughter has a positive effect on a business' bottom line.

What I want to know is how does one get rich from laughing? Is it get monetary rich or just emotionally and mentally rich? What do you believe it is? It'd be nice if you could laugh and get monetary rich, I'd laugh all the time. That would be a good job anyways, every time you laugh money falls into your lap kind of thing. I think that would be just brilliant. I'm going to go with the easiest, though, and say that today means laugh and get rich (mentally/emotionally). As laughing really does do the body good. It increases happiness and intimacy. It also triggers healthy physical changes in the body by strengthening your immune system, boosting your energy, diminishing pain, and protecting you from the damaging effects of stress. So I say put down your school books or stop working for a few minutes and just give yourself a good laugh fest. Everyone can use it.

So for laugh and get rich day I'm going to share a joke of the day from jokeoftheday.com and hopefully give you a laugh.

Last year a friend of mine upgraded from Boyfriend 1.0 to Husband 1.0 and found that it's a memory hog, leaving very little system resources available for other applications. She is now noticing that Husband 1.0 is also spawning Child Processors which are further consuming valuable resources. No mention of this particular phenomena was included in the product brochure or the documentation, though other users have informed her that this is to be expected due to the nature of the application. Not only that, Husband 1.0 installs itself such, that it is always launched at system initialization, where it can monitor all other system activity. She's finding that some applications such as Spending Spree 2.4, Girls Night 3.5 and Cocktail Night 7.0 are no longer able to run in the system at all, crashing the system when selected (even though they always worked fine before). During installation, Husband 1.0 provides no option as to the installation of undesired Plug-ins such as Mother-In-Law 5.8 and Brother-In-Law Beta release. Also, system performance seems to diminish with each passing day. Some features she'd like to see in the upcoming Husband 2.0 include: 1. A "Yes I'll cook, clean etc." button. 2. An install shield feature that allows Husband 2.0 be installed with the option to uninstall at anytime without the loss of cache and other system resources.

I myself decided to avoid the headache associated with Husband 1.0 by sticking with Boyfriend 2.0. Even here, however, I found many problems. Apparently you cannot install Boyfriend 2.0 on top of Boyfriend 1.0; each program begins damaging the other. You must uninstall Boyfriend 1.0 first. Other users say this is a long standing bug that I should have known about. You'd think they would have fixed such a stupid bug by now! To make matters worse, the uninstall program for Boyfriend 1.0 doesn't work very well, leaving undesirable traces of the application in the system. Another thing--all versions of Boyfriend 1.0 continually pop up little annoying messages about the advantages of upgrading to Husband 1.0.

Bug Warning
Husband 1.0 has an undocumented bug. If you try to install Lover 1.1 before uninstalling Husband 1.0, Husband 1.0 will delete MS Clothing allowance files, before doing the uninstall himself. More applications that won't run with Husband 1.0 include Chippendale 2.0, Netball watching 3.5, Sure more shoes 6.0, and Cleanup 4.3.

Applications that run very well with Husband 1.0, however, include Bumming around 1.0, Pub night 2.3, Golfing 2.7, Poker night 5.3, and Wandering eyes 4.9.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself...

I guess it's true what Rachel says, "if you have french toast for breakfast it means it's going to be a good day," well I had french toast for breakfast this morning and I must say that today was a pretty awesome day. Since I've been here at school I have not had a chance to really leave town and enjoy time elsewhere doing other things except for when I'd go home with my roommate for the weekend and do whatever she wanted to do kind of thing, but today I actually had the day off from work and me and my bestie spent the day in Cheyenne. It was pretty awesome. Got to hit the mall, even though we had no money that we wanted to spend there, it was still fun for a change in things, and we went to see her brother at his Decca awards banquet and then just us girls went out for supper at Olive Garden. It was a pretty good day I must say. Nice to have a relaxing day away from the normal dorm/school scene. Aside from that, what else makes it really good is that it's only February 6th and it feels like Spring is way close out here as the snow is melting pretty fast and you can see grass again in a lot of areas...it's pretty nice. And Rachel...I love having you as my best friend, I'm glad I did end up living on your floor so that we'd meet, if I didn't end up on your floor we probably would have never met. Love Yahs!

...everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

If hard work is the key to success, most people would rather pick the lock.

Work vs. Passion

So what bugs me when it comes to work is when you're trained to do certain things on certain shifts and yet you get told to do the things you're supposed to do on the closing shift PLUS all the prep for the morning shift person and the chip stocking for the mid shift person as well. I know I should be fine doing all of this since I was asked to, but I was also told previously that I need to only do what needs to be done during the closing shift if that's what I'm working. Needless to say, during my 6.5 hours of work tonight I didn't even have time to take a short little 5 minute break to cool off from everything and I didn't even get it all complete. I believe that's too much to ask to get completed in one shift when it's all split up for a reason obviously.

I just want to get on with my life get out of work that I don't want to do for life and get into work with my passion of animals. Apparently that's just so hard to get into around here because the animal hospitals are all full staffed and if they aren't they want someone with experience. Well I'm trying to get that, but it's hard if no one will give it. Which is why I'm going to try and get a summer job in an animal hospital back home. Hopefully something will come through. Anyways, it's late and I have to get up early in the morning, better get to bed.

Tonight I just wanted to pick the lock.

If You Carry Your Childhood With You, You Never Become Older

Today, is the day, that Elmo turns 40! How can such a cute and cuddly red Muppet be 40 years old when in the show he portrays about the age of a preschooler? And yet he is such a smart Muppet...in that he testified before Congress to urge support of music education. I don't have much more to say about Elmo...he's just a really cute Muppet that I remember watching him on Sesame Street when I was younger and today just realized that today is his birthday!

My friend Rachel also said I needed to blog again. More specifically she suggested blogging about the happenings at my job at Subway. Nothing new going on there. It's going well and I enjoy the extra income. I get to make cotton candy as well, which isn't something that normally happens at Subways. But I work at one that's located in a Wal-Mart and we sell the cotton candy for them so we have to make it when there's hardly any left.

Update on classes: They're all going really well and I'm really thinking they'll end well too. I enjoy going to them, which makes it a lot easier to get up in the mornings. I've also joined the Friday Night Fever team, which organizes events to hold for the students on campus on Friday nights (obviously) and some Saturdays as well. I really enjoy that and the people are pretty darn awesome as well.

Oh The Places You'll Go!
